You can add clickable links inside your flows, allowing you to transfer your visitors to different URLs.
In this article, you'll learn:

- How to place the links with widget formatting
- How the links open
- Our examples of how to use links in Flows
Place a link inside the buttons
Two of our Decision actions have the ability to add links to them: the Decision (Buttons) and Decision (Card Messages):
Open the flow you wish to edit or create from your Flows section in the Tidio panel. Once you see the Flows editing map - drag and drop the Decision (Buttons) action and add it to your workflow.
Click on the Decision (Buttons) or (Card Messages) action, and the adjustment menu will pop up on the right side.
To add a link - click on the Type in a button name field:
You will be able to choose between adding an Action or a URL:
The difference is as follows:
- Action - This allows you to create a button that will lead to another action. You can continue the workflow.
- URL - allows you to transfer the visitor to the chosen internal or external page and/or continue the workflow.
Place the links with widget formatting
You can also add hyperlinks by using specific formatting directly inside a flow message. You can achieve that by using the following scheme:
[link text](link address)
Inside [link text] - write any text that you want your visitors to click on.
Inside (link address) - provide the exact URL you wish to direct the visitors to.
To save the formatting (and any other changes), click on the Activate button in the top-right.
How the links open
Whenever you use a link in a Decision (Buttons) or Decision (Card Messages) action in your flow, they will open by following the rules below:
- Internal links - if you're linking to a page within your website (where Tidio is installed), the page will open in the same browser tab that the visitor is currently using.
- External links - if you're linking to a different website, it will open in a new tab of the browser.
Examples - how to use the links
Below you can see some specific examples on how to best use links inside Tidio flows.

Schedule a meeting - Calendly Flow
Do you have your Calendly account to schedule meetings with your customers? Great, now you can link your calendar to the flow so all your website's visitors will have a chance to book a call or meeting with you.
The link will transfer your website's visitors directly to the page with your calendar where they will be able to schedule a meeting.
Announcement Flow
You can use the announcement flow to let your visitors know about some of your new offers or upcoming events. Whether it is a big sale, new features, a webinar, or you just stocked up your store with some great new products - let your visitors know about them first. You can run this flow to all the new and returning visitors to make sure no one will miss this offer.
FAQ flow with links to your Knowledge Base
Would you like to automate your website's visitors' communication process and make the flow answer the most frequent questions instead of you? Now, you can create an FAQ that will send your customers directly to your Knowledge Base as well, in order to find more information on the topic.
