Hiding the widget when offline
If you'd like to hide your Tidio widget whenever you go offline, navigate to Settings > Live Chat > Appearance, and open the Advanced section there:
Disable the option labeled Display widget when operators are offline if you want Tidio to disappear whenever all your operators are offline:
Displaying the widget on chosen devices
To access your widget's general visibility options, navigate to the Visibility and position section, located in Settings > Live Chat > Appearance:
Here you can determine where your Tidio widget is displayed and how. There are several options for the desktop version of your website as well as the mobile version, and you can decide about both aspects of your widget separately.
Use the Display switch to decide whether to show or hide the widget on your website in general - you can change this setting separately for the desktop version and for the mobile version of your widget.
Disabling the chat entirely
If you wish to completely disable the chat widget on your website (without uninstalling it), disable the Display toggle located in the Visibility and position section (as described above). Make sure to do this for both the desktop and mobile version of your widget; this will hide the widget entirely on your website.
Hiding on specific pages
To hide the Tidio widget on specific pages only, you can use the Hide on specific pages option located in the Visibility and position section:
This allows you to make the widget invisible on certain pages (desktop or mobile devices). Once you click on that link, a new window will pop up, allowing you to decide about the details:
Disabling Tidio for an exact URL address
If you wish to hide the Tidio chat widget on specific pages, you'll need to select that option and put the exact URL addresses individually into the field, and click Add:
To save your new settings, simply click on the Confirm button in the window, then click on the Save button at the bottom-left of the Appearance section.
Disabling Tidio for addresses that contain a keyword or phrase
If you would like to disable the chat widget on pages that include the a specific phrase (or word) in the website's address - the Address contains option is for you. It allows you to hide the chat widget on more than just one page at a time, as long as the page's address contains what you've listed.
Select the Address contains option, then insert the keyword or phrase into the URL field, and click Add:
To save your new settings, simply click on the Confirm button in the window, then click on the Save button at the bottom-left of the Appearance section.
Example
Let's say we want to hide the Tidio widget inside all the Help Center articles from the 'Chatbots' category. In this case, we should include the link www.help.tidio.com/chatbots in the page field, mark it as Address contains, and click on the Add button. Now, the chat widget will be visible in all the other Help Center articles, but not inside the articles about from the 'Chatbots' category.
Once you've added some pages to hide Tidio on, you will see the number of those pages in the Visibility and position settings. This will quickly let you know that the Hide on specific pages option is being used:
Hiding Tidio for specific countries
In addition to the options described earlier, you can also decide about hiding Tidio for visitors who are coming to your website from particular countries (this is based on their IP addresses). To use this function, click on the Hide or display for specific countries link:
In the popup window, you can add multiple countries by selecting them from a list:
For increased flexibility, you can instead specify the countries for which Tidio should not be hidden - you do this by selecting Display for instead of Hide for:
To save your preferences, click on the Save button in the window, then click on the Save button at the bottom-left of the Appearance section.
