A very useful tool in Lyro's arsenal is your ability to add specific tasks, which Lyro will carry out in specified situations. These tasks are basically flows that you create manually, and they are triggered by specified words or phrases - and these flows do not interrupt Lyro's conversation with a visitor; they become part of it. Tasks can be triggered during active Lyro conversations, or they can be the first thing that triggers in response to the visitor's initial message.
With Tasks, you can allow Lyro to check the status of a customer's order (if you're integrated with Shopify), provide information about current discounts, or make Lyro act in a pre-prepared way in response to particular phrases or questions.

Adding Tasks
You can use the available templates or create your own tasks (which works just like creating a regular flow in the flow editor!).
You can find these options in the Tasks tab in Lyro's settings:
From there, you can either create a new task from scratch or browse the available templates.
Using Task templates and customizing them
The pre-made templates are available in the Task templates tab:
You can select any of the listed templates, and you will see a short description of its purpose - e.g. the Product availability task allows Lyro to check your inventory via Shopify integration, and provide the customer with current information.
When you decide to add one of the templates, you will be taken to a familiar environment: the flow editor, with all of the conditions and actions associated with creating flows. The flow always starts with the Visitor says trigger, as that is how Lyro will recognize the visitor's question.
Of course, you can immediately modify the template as well, and hit Activate when you're done.
Creating a custom task
Creating your own task from scratch can be a very powerful tool, as it allows you to build a customized flow with different conditions and actions. You can select the Create task from scratch option for this purpose.
This will let you create the flow the flow editor, with all the tools normally associated with creating flows (except the flow always starts with the Visitor says trigger, same as with the task templates).
Once you finish the flow and activate it, you will be asked to name the task - and it will become visible in the My tasks list, along with any other tasks you've already added:
There you can also disable or enable particular tasks, as well as edit them whenever necessary.
The quota for Lyro Tasks
When a Lyro Task is triggered, it is essentially a flow executed during a Lyro chatbot conversation. Since they are part of the Lyro interaction in general, Tasks use your project's Lyro quota.

The way this Task usage is calculated is similar to the general Lyro AI chatbot usage, or even the flows usage. One unique visitor who triggers a Task is counted as 1 (one) deducted from your Lyro quota. The same unique visitor can continue to trigger other Tasks, or chat with Lyro, and nothing more will be deducted from the quota.
Please note: if a visitor triggers a Task during an active Lyro conversation, nothing will be deducted. That's because 1 (one) from the Lyro quota has already been deducted when the Lyro conversation started.
