How to test the email integration
Before diving into the details, ensure you have successfully installed the Tidio Email Integration by referring to our dedicated article on email integration installation.
Once you have implemented the integration, it's time to test it. Simply send an email to the designated integrated address you have set up.
The email will be delivered to your Gmail inbox and will also appear as a pop-up notification within the Tidio Chat panel.
Upon clicking the notification, the email will open as a conversation within the chat widget on your website. To easily distinguish it from regular chat messages, it will be marked with a small envelope icon next to the sender's icon. You can switch to the email channel below if needed.
Answer emails from Tidio panel
When viewing an email conversation in the Tidio panel, you will notice a red dot below the message. This shows that the sender is no longer on your website and can't participate in a live chat. The channel will also be automatically switched to the email channel.
Add a subject, fill up the text, and add attachments to the email if you wish to.
Please note that sending an email back to the original sender will cause it to appear in their inbox as a separate thread and not as a response to the initial email.
That happens due to our mailing system design, making each operator have their unique email address with a randomly generated ID for easier tracking.
The first response will not be added to the initial thread. However, all the future replies in this particular thread will.
