Hide or Disable Chat on Your Website

You can hide the Tidio chat widget when you're offline in your Tidio panel or hide it permanently regarding your status.
In this article, you'll learn:
Hide the Chat when Offline
To hide the chat when you're offline in your Tidio panel, go to Settings > Channels > Live Chat > Appearance and toggle on the appropriate option under Widget Settings.
Disable the Chat Permanently
To disable the chat widget permanently on your website, go to the Settings > Channels > Appearance section. Then, scroll down to the Chat Visibility settings and choose one of the options for displaying the widget on your website. Choose the Hide widget option to hide it entirely for all website visitors.
See what each option means in the Chat Visibility settings:
Both on mobile and desktop devices
The chat will be displayed on every page of your website (on
Display only on desktop devices
The chat will be only visible to users who open your website on their desktop computers.
Display only on mobile devices
The chat will be only visible to users who opened your website through their mobile devices.
Hide widget
The widget will be hidden entirely from all of your visitors.
Advanced Rules
The widget may be displayed on the chosen pages (or devices) only. When you select the advanced rules option, a new window with its settings will appear. You can read more about it later in this article.
When you decide to use the Advanced Rules option - a new window will appear to select the pages on which the Tidio chat will no longer be displayed. You can choose not to display the widget on mobile or desktop pages.
Disable for Exact URL Address
If you wish to hide the Tidio chat widget on specific pages, you'll need to put their URL addresses individually into the website's field and click add.
To save the settings, click on the X button and scroll down to the bottom of the page to click on the Save button.
Disable for Address Contains
If you would like to disable the chat widget on pages that include the same phrase in the website's link - that's the option for you. It allows you to hide the chat widget on more than just one page within a minute.
To hide the widget on pages with a phrase that the website address contains - insert the keyword into the box marked below and click Add. To confirm, click on X in the top-right corner:
Example
Let's say we want to hide the Tidio widget inside all the Help Center articles from the Chatbots category. In this case, I will include the link www.help.tidio.com/chatbots in the page field, mark it as Address contains, and click on the add button. Now, the chat widget will be visible in all the other Help Center articles but not inside the articles about Chatbots.
To save the settings, click on the X button and scroll down to the bottom of the page to click on the Save button.
