You've probably heard the word 'portal' before. Portal provides access or link from one place to another. At Tidio, we called portals - the ability to trigger one bot from another.

In this article, you'll learn:

Creating a portal

You can build a bot that will trigger another bot with the Visitors Says trigger using the Decision (Quick Replies) actions inside your bot.

💡
Please, keep in mind that the portal will work only in the live chat channel. Unfortunately, the portal doesn't work in the Messenger and Instagram integration.

In practice, the Visitor Says bot can be triggered when your website visitor clicks on one of the buttons inside the; Decision (Quick Replies) not connected to any other actions which include the same message that you've set in the Visitor Says bot.

Take a look at our video where we explain how to create a portal between the chatbots:

or see our written example:

You can see a bot with the Decision (Quick Replies) action in the picture below. The buttons (Quick Replies) in the Decision nodes are not connected to any other action.

The bot above can trigger another bot with the Visitor Says trigger if it includes the same message as the button from the previous bot.

That's why we created a bot with the Visitor Says trigger that includes the same phrase as one of the buttons in the bot with the Decision (Quick Replies) action.

💡
Please, keep in mind that if the Visitor will type and send the message manually (not by clicking on the quick reply button) - the Visitor Says bot will not be triggered. The Visitors Says bot would trigger only if the visitors would send this message twice.

.. and the action! After clicking on the button - the bot will trigger the bot with the Visitor Says trigger.
